The Memphis in May International Festival will take place from May 4-May 26 at Tom Lee Park. A single day pass for the Beale Street Music Festival is $32.50 in advance or $40 at the gate; a three-day pass is $75. The event will feature five stages and 65 artists.

There are several events which will take place during the May International Festival. The Beale Street Music Festival takes place from May 4-6 and will feature musical acts such as Sponge Cola, Megadeth and Blind Mississippi Morris, the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest will take place from May 17-19 and will offer $100,000 in prizes, Salute to the Philippines will take place during the entire festival and will feature dancing, music, food and a lecture series, the Sunset Symphony with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the Bar-Kays and a fireworks display will take place on May 26 beginning at 3 pm. (there is an extra charge of $8 in advance or $9 at the gate for tickets to this event), and throughout the festival there are special school shows at the Orpheum Theatre. So, there is basically something for everyone during the month of May.

There will also be vendors selling items such as food, posters and t-shirts. Memphis printing companies have most likely provided t-shirt and poster printing services to the organizers of the May International Festival. Beale Street Music Festival T-shirts are on sale from $16-20 and posters for all events are $30.
