Annual walk helps promote local business

September 9, 2016 by

The 8th annual Move it Memphis Race is taking place this month. Funds raised will benefit the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce.

The race, which is four miles long, is open to people of all ages, and categories of competition include those aged nine and under and those 75 or over. Fees are $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the race, while those who want to take part in a sprint run pay $20. All racers will receive a free T-shirt and a goody bag filled with samples and offers from sponsors.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three male and female racers, the male and female winner in the master’s category, the top male and female in the grandmaster category, and the top three male and female in each age division.

After the race, there will be an after party, which will begin at 7:45 PM. This will feature beverages and the music of Opera Memphis.

Sponsorships are available and sponsors will be recognized during the event. It is likely that the goody bags everyone receives will contain items such as promotional pens and money-off coupons, which may be provided by a local printing company.

The Move it Memphis Race will take place at Loftin Yard on September 28 beginning at 6:30 PM. For the most up-to-date information, contact Tunga Lee at 901-543-3571.
