Jackson hopes to build towards communication
November 11, 2012 by Mark
The West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center is trying to raise funds to build the Assistive Technology Library to help those who are suffering from communication disorders. With that in mind, the organization is sponsoring the Speaking of Art fundraising gala this month.
The fundraising gala will feature an open bar and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Guests can pay extra to create a work of art on canvas with the help of a top area artist. These canvasses will then be auctioned off during the gala, which will also feature a raffle and live musical entertainment. It should be an enjoyable evening for all and will allow many people to help release the artist within them. The funds raised for the library will help many adults and children who current have difficulty communicating with others for various cognitive or physical reasons, so guests can be sure that they are helping a worthwhile cause.
No doubt several Jackson companies are donating items to the raffle. They might want to work with local printing companies to help advertise the fact that they are helping the cause and try to solicit more donations from their customer base by sending out a flyer with details about the event.
The Speaking of Art fundraising gala will take place at the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center on November 17 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $25 or $75 for those who wish to create a work of art. For more information, call 713-668-6076.
