Family fun day coming up at Kid Fest

September 23, 2012 by

The 11th annual STAR Center’s Kid Fest, taking place at the Jackson Fairgrounds, will offer plenty of activities for children and their families. Costumed characters will be making an appearance, much to the amusement, no doubt, of the kids.

At the festival, there will be bounce houses, inflatable slides, pony rides, a petting zoo, musical entertainment, and vendors. Also present will be the Sport Zone, featuring archery, fishing, relay races, tricycle races, and all sorts of fun.

Vendors will be selling items of interest to children and their families. This could include toys, clothing, games, and books. No doubt, like in previous years, community organizations will also have information booths set up and are likely to be in cahoots with Jackson printing companies to prepare for Kid Fest. Printing companies can provide them with banners, signs, flyers, and posters to use in advertising the event. A colorful banner hung over a company’s booth will draw more attention than one that just has a small notice, while a well-placed sign in the area can also only help to bring people to that booth. Flyers and posters could be distributed throughout the community to bring attention to the event.

Set to be held on October 13 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. For more information please call Jacque Hillman at 731-668-3888.

The STAR Center offers services to those who are disabled and to their families, providing such programs as art therapy, job skills training, home car provisions, music therapy, and literacy.
