Carl Perkins Center in Jackson hopes for February funds

January 3, 2013 by

The Blue Suede Spectacular event is an annual occasion that helps to raise much needed funds for the Carl Perkins Center. This year it will feature a concert by county music star Ronnie Milsap. In addition, there will be a sit-down dinner, silent and live auctions. It will be an excellent night out for those interested in preventing child abuse and supporting a great institution.

The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse offers much to the community of West Tennessee. It provides such programs as counseling for parents and children, parenting classes, a 24-hour hotline, and a food pantry. The organization’s mission is to wipe out child abuse by treating the causes.

Local businesses can also help raise funds for the center by donating items to the auctions, sponsoring the event, or purchasing advertisements in the program guide. Sponsorships start at $800 for a table of eight and go up to $20,000 to sponsor the evening’s entertainment. No doubt Jackson printing companies will be helping to provide the program guide, as well as producing signs or banners that will recognize the sponsors.

The 19th annual Blue Suede Spectacular event will take place at the Carl Perkins Civic Center on February 23 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $100 and tables for eight are available. For those only interested in attending the concert, tickets are $15 each or $40 for four. For more information, call Stephanie Isaacs at 731-668-4000.
