Theater lovers in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, will be able to see a wide variety of plays in March, thanks to the Theatre of the Republic (TOR) in Conway.

First up at TOR is ‘Illusions on Main Street: Fabulous Fakes’, which features female impersonators. The all-male cast will mimic famous women performers ranging from Tina Turner to Judy Garland. ‘Illusions’ runs March 1 – 3, with performances at 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday nights and a 3:00 pm Sunday matinee.

Next up is ‘Ten Little Murders’, a satire on the murder-mystery genre written by Kathryn Martin, a North Carolina playwright. It runs March 8 – 10 with Friday and Saturday performances at 8 pm and Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. An extra 3:00 pm Saturday matinee is also scheduled for this production.

The final production in this special assortment is ‘The Gentlemen Take the Stage’, a companion piece to the hit show that played this January, ‘The Ladies Take the Stage’. This upcoming show will run March 22 – 24 and, as with the other shows, evening performances are at 8:00 pm with a matinee on Sunday at 3:00 pm.

Tickets are $18 and are available for purchase online or at the box office. The Theatre of the Republic is located at 335 Main Street and its box office is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The TOR could work with experts in both flyer printing and poster printing to create a mailer, as well as posters, to display throughout the region.
