Ice skating drifts in as winter comes

November 15, 2012 by

The 2nd Annual Ice on Main takes place in the center of Greenville, in the downtown core, in an open-air community ice skating rink. This is a one of a kind rink and the only one like it in upstate South Carolina. Last this month, locals are invited to bring the family and join the fun as we kick off the festive season with a classic winter tradition – skating on ice.

Some of the funds raised from this event, which is sponsored principals by Greenville Tech, will benefit the college as it joins with other partners to work towards a new home with Habitat for Humanity in the County of Greenville. Guests are reminded that pets are not permitted on the ice surface and there will be no personal storage of belongings available, so they are asked not to bring valuables. The rink does have an excellent spectator area, however, and some exceptional student artwork for all to enjoy.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this wonderful family skating event to people in this area and the surrounding areas. Adult admission is $10, while children under 12 pay $8, with prices including skate rental. The grand opening of this open-air skating event is Friday, November 23, starting at 11 am, although the rink will be open daily until New Years Day at the Downtown Courtyard by Marriott located at 210 S. Main Street in Greenville, South Carolina. To learn more, or check out the winter hours, please visit the Ice on Main website.
