Downtown Greenville to get cat cafe

March 15, 2017 by

The Organic Cat Cafe, a cafe dreamed up by Greenville resident Jennifer Bronzel, is set to open in May of this year. It will allow customers to enjoy food and drink in a relaxing environment while being surrounded by cats.

The cafe focuses mainly on healthy food choices and lists hot/iced coffee and tea, juice, and snacks such as granola bars on its menu. The cats that live at the cafe will be supplied by local shelters and breeders in the surrounding areas and from places like Florida and Georgia. The cafe seeks to use the cats for therapeutic purposes and to give those who may not be allowed to have pets where they live the ability to play with the animals.

The cost to visit the cafe will be $10 per hour, which will go towards caring for the cats and a free beverage, but does not include any other purchases customers would make at the cafe. The planned opening hours listed on the website are 10:00am to 10:00pm on Monday through Thursday, and from 11:00am to 11:00pm on Friday through Sunday. The cats that will be living at the cafe have yet to be displayed on the website.
