With is delicate fragrance, brightly colored blossoms and greenish grey leaves, lavender is a popular garden plant, and green thumbs form Winston-Salem are invited to an event that will help them develop a deeper appreciation of this well-known herb.

The Old Salem Visitors Center will be hosting a gardening workshop that will discuss all things lavender. Attendees will learn how to grow and care for this plant in their own garden, including how the plants should be pruned as divided as they grow, as well as the different varieties that are available and how to use them.

This free workshop will take place over the lunch hour, so people are welcome to bring along their midday meal to eat while they listen to the presentation. Lavender lemonade will be served free of charge, along with cookies made using the same ingredient.

Following the event, those who took part will be able to purchase lavender plants as well as a variety of locally produced artisan products made using this herb. A printing services provider can both design and print branded packaging and other products for small businesses to use during an event such as this.

The workshop will be held on April 6, and additional information has been made available on the host’s website. The public is welcome to visit and preregister for the event.
