Two Roosters finds a perch

Jared and Kelsey Plummer, who make their Two Roosters ice cream at The Cookery in Durham, will move to Raleigh soon, where they will start by making 10 “forever” flavors

The Plummers have been serving their unique ice cream flavors from a camper on the back of an old pickup truck while they look for a permanent spot. As they searched, they also gained a lot of fans of their unusual flavors, who will now be able to enjoy Two Roosters Ice Cream at the Plummers’ first brick-and-mortar store. In addition, the Plummers will be selling ice cream sandwiches at Durham Bulls Athletic Park during the team’s home games.

The new flavours will likely include ones that will always be available like chocolate and vanilla, but also some of the unusual tastes they have concocted like grilled cheese and pizza. The duo plans to rotate four or five of these unusual flavors monthly, since customers ask for them.

Patrons have also been asking when they will be able to sit in a permanent Two Roosters store. They now have an answer – this summer.

Two Roosters is moving into a space in Greystone Village Shopping Center on Leadmine Road in Raleigh. The shop, which comprises 1,100 square feet, is slated for a June 2017 opening.

Companies like this can benefit if owners work with a postcard printing company, which can create a card for mailing to a targeted area, announcing the opening.
