Expansion planned near Wake Forest Road

Kane Realty, a North Hills developer, has obtained the last piece of land it needs to finish its projected 34-acre expansion of the project it’s working on near Wake Forest Road. The land is just over 20 acres, which Kane now owns outright, and it is leasing another 13.
Last year, Kane asked for a change in the zoning to allow it to develop the property to include a variety of uses, including 450 units for seniors, 950 hotel rooms, 2,100 residential units, retail space totaling 125,000 square feet, and office spaces offering as much as 1.3 million square feet. John Kane, CEO of Kane Realty, says there is a lot of support for the project and he believes the city will approve his request.
Kane said that the new project, unlike others in the area, will be spread out, and approximately 25% of the new land will not be developed, first because there are sewer and electrical lines there, and second because a protected creek and its tributaries flow through the property. Kane says that leaving the land alone will enable the company to create a less dense urban setting, as well as including amenities like a greenway and park for public use.
Projects like this can benefit if developers work with a brochure printing company, which can create illustrated booklets that show residents of the area the amenities and appearance of the finished project.
