Cigna introduces new health plans to Raleigh

Cigna, working in conjunction with UNC Health Alliance and UNC Health Care, is introducing new medical plans for both families and individuals in the Raleigh area, according to an article in Business Wire.

The plans will be available in the public federal marketplace, and in the private sector, starting January 1, 2017.

Cigna North Carolina’s president, Charles Pitts, said the company sees the exchange in North Carolina as a good opportunity to provide quality, overall value, and healthcare access to customers, based on the collaborative approach Cigna takes in partnership with the other healthcare agencies.

The plans Cigna will be introducing are in addition to the ones already in place in the local area in what he calls the `”employer market”. Pitts notes that the current employer plans are providing access to affordable medical care from hospitals and doctors in the area, as well as resources and information available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help people maximize their coverage.

The new plans will provide patients more options, giving those who join individual plans access to UNC Health Alliance, which is a large network of hospitals and doctors. The plans will also help people new to a healthcare system develop relationships with professional, or improve the ones they have.

Companies like these can benefit by using brochures, which they can mail area-wide, and which describe plans in detail.
