Pineville makes arty start to November

Numerous seasonal events and special events are taking place in the Pineville area this weekend and later on this month, and no doubt several printing services are being used to make people aware of these events and encourage them to take part in the fun which they have to offer.

It all starts tomorrow, November 2, at the Spratt Building in Fort Mill, where the Women’s Club of Fort Mill will be holding its Taste of the Holidays for the ninth year. People will be able to taste a selection of foods and then will receive a cookbook containing all the recipes. A silent auction will also be held. Proceeds from the event will go to support several service projects in the area, including Fort Mill and Nation Ford high school scholarships, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Fort Mill Care Center.

From November 3 to 9, a special charity sale will be held at Belk’s in Pineville to benefit the Friends of the Del Webb Library and its special programs, which include Summer Reading programs, Storytime, and the Arts Program.

Lastly, a new exhibit titled ‘Between the Springmaid Sheets’ will be opening at the Fort Mill History Museum on November 8. It reveals the story of the ad campaign created by Col. Elliott White Springs that was considered daring and controversial at the time, and put Springs Cotton Mill into the national limelight during the 1940s. The exhibit includes original illustrations by Rockwell Kent, Clayton Knight, and Montgomery Flagg.
