Christmas arrives in Pineville next month

November 29, 2016 by

The Christmas Tree Lighting is taking place in just a few days, presented by Pineville Parks and Recreation Department.

The afternoon event will start off with lots of family-friendly activities. These include a train ride, candy cane hunt, and projects to make in the kids’ craft tent. There will be entertainment provided by a juggler and hot chocolate to enjoy. In addition, there will be snow and a bonfire with s’mores. There will also be a musical performance by Mr. Nigel and Friends while visitors are awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus.

At 5:30, Santa will arrive on a fire truck and he will light the tree. After that, the festivities will continue.

While they are downtown, visitors are encouraged to visit local merchants and vote on who has the best decorated Christmas tree. Some of the stores in downtown Pineville may invest in banners and other paper products to help decorate their trees.

For those who want more Christmas that weekend, they can attend a live radio production of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ at The Hut. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and students.

The Christmas Tree Lighting and festivities will take place in Downtown Pineville this Saturday, December 3 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. To learn more about all of the various activities taking place, call 704-889-2400.
