Amazing Race comes to Pineville

The Great Amazing Race Charlotte is coming to Pineville next month.

This event is taking place in cities all over the country until summer, and is based on the television program ‘The Amazing Race’ where participants have to complete several challenges to continue in the race.

This race is 1.5 miles in length and participants will face at least eight separate challenges that both members of the two-person teams must complete. Participants can range in age from 5 to 80 years of age, and there are two course levels: one for adults and another for kids from grades K to 12. There are also four divisions and the first place finishers in each will receive medals.

Organizers are asking participants to donate two pairs of sneakers for cancer. In return they will receive a two-minute eraser token that will take time off their finishing score. Donated sneakers will be used to raise funds for the Max Cure Foundation.

It is likely that a Pineville printing company will be asked to provide items such as printed T-shirts and advertising posters to help support this worthy event.

The Great American Race Charlotte will be held at Pineville Lake Park on March 25. Participation fees are $48 per team in advance or $60 on the day of the race, while military, teachers, and first responders only pay $43 or $60. To find out more, visit the official race webpage.
