Annual youth rugby festival to kick off

The Spring Festival and Rugby Tournament is about to be held in Matthews at the Mecklenburg County SportsPlex for the 11th year in a row. The North Carolina High School Rugby Association is partnering to host the event. No doubt these hosts have turned to a variety of printing services to make participants, their families, and communities aware of it.

This year, it is expected that coaching staffs and rugby teams from 12 Midwestern and east coast states, including the Caribbean and Canada, will be participating in this event, also known as the Ruggerfest. There will be 40 teams of boys from middle school and men and women from high school playing in the Ruggerfest, with an average of 27 players and reserves per team, making it a middle and high school rugby tournament and one of the largest in the United States.

The College ACC 7’s Rugby Tournament, where six to eight rugby teams at the college level vie for the trophy of the ACC 7, will be occurring simultaneously with the Ruggerfest. With this event, young players and their parents are afforded additional opportunity to meet with rugby coaches and players from ACC colleges and to learn more about a career in the sport.

The Ruggerfest will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, with gates opening to the public at 7:00 am.
