BBQ contest coming to Charlotte

The warmer, summer months are the time when many “pit masters” will decide to prepare the meat and get the grill ready for a good old-fashioned BBQ, with people usually spending more time outdoors to enjoy the pleasant weather. This fall, BBQ masters will have an opportunity to compete for cash and prizes at the largest Memphis BBQ Network sanctioned BBQ festival in the Southeast.

In the heart of uptown Charlotte, on South Tryon, just 22 miles east of Gastonia, the 10th Annual Time Warner BBQ & Blues festival will take place this year on October 12 – 13. The event is set to attract over 100 teams, engaging in a BBQ competition in which the Grand Champion will receive $7,500 cash, a major trophy, and considerable bragging rights.

The public is invited to attend the festival, as there will be free parking and free admission to the activities. A selection of food and beverages will be available for purchase and the onsite vendors might be tempted to do a little poster printing and banner printing to display their prices and their food items in festive décor.

In conjunction with the competitions, there will be plenty of entertainment, such as live blues music performances, cornhole tournaments, and cooking classes that instruct on fire management, preparation of bastes, basting techniques, meat selection, marinades, dry rubs, and more.

The two days of flavorsome fun are not to be missed for anyone with a hunger for delicious, barbequed food who may be experiencing summer withdrawal symptoms once October arrives.
