Fuquay-Varina to celebrate the 4th of July a little early
June 7, 2016 by Max
Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration will be held a day early this year. The event will be free and organizers promise that it will still have the same Independence Day spirit, activities and of course fireworks.
This year’s entertainment headliners will be Spare Change, which is a six-piece band out of Greenville, North Carolina that plays everything from country, funk, and rock, to classic rock and rap. The group has two guitars, a fiddle, bass, and drums that accompany its four male vocalists and one female vocalist.
Children can enjoy the inflatables, activities, and rides before the fireworks begin, while food venders will be selling those goodies associated with the holiday. Although no alcohol may be brought onto the premises, everyone is invited to bring other beverages in coolers. Along with the coolers, guests will want to remember to bring blankets and chairs, but should note that pets should be left at home.
Organizers promise that the fireworks this year will be ‘world-class’, and suggest that arriving early may be wise to ensure a good vantage place to see the fireworks.
Everyone will want to mark their calendars for Sunday, July 3. The event will be at South Park, 900 S. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina. Gates will open at 6:00 pm, Spare Change will begin playing at 7:00, and the fireworks will start at sundown.
