Fuquay-Varina residents readying for circus

February 12, 2014 by

Soon, it will be time once again for Fuquay-Varina kids of all ages to take the short trip to the Barnum and Bailey Circus in Raleigh.

This year, the ‘All New Built to Amaze Red Tour’ will mark the 143rd edition of the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’. Along with the awesome elephants and big cats, other animals will share the stage with human stars in 19 acts. Trampoline, high wire, aerial, juggling acts and, of course, those lovable clowns will thrill and delight those in attendance.

Tickets can be purchased for as little as $15; for a few dollars more, enthusiasts can become a Circus Celebrity and sit on the arena floor. Special attention will be given to this section of the audience throughout the show, including rides in specially-constructed chairs around the ring during the performance.

All tickets allow the holder admittance to the All-Access Pre-Show—attendees can meet the performers and get pictures taken with the clowns, possibly for postcard printing at a later date. Also, there will be an opportunity to try on clown costumes and enter for a chance to win a picture drawn by an elephant.

The circus will be held at the PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, Thursday through Sunday, February 20 – 23. The Thursday and Friday shows will start at 7:00 pm, while Saturday and Sunday performances will start at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 7:30 pm.
