Fuquay Varina offers two options for 4th July celebrations

June 7, 2017 by

Fuquay Varina will be celebrating Independence Day a day early this year, and for those who don’t mind a little drive, nearby Cary will be having an extravaganza.

Here in town our celebration will have an ongoing live concert that will keep attendees entertained until the fireworks display. The fireworks will begin at sundown. There will also be inflatables and rides for the kids.

An Olde Time Celebration is being planned for Cary on the 4th. The Boathouse will hold a fishing tournament with prizes for the shortest and longest fish. Cary Teen Council will be passing out decorations and banners at the Kiwanis Shelter for people to decorate their strollers, scooters, trikes, bikes and battery-powered kids’ vehicles for the parade.

Families can also take part in friendly competitions such as watermelon spitting, Lake Side Olympics, donut, ice cream and watermelon eating contests and sidewalk decorating.

The Koka Booth Amphitheatre will have kids’ activities, a Ferris Wheel, scavenger hunt and a Berry-Go-Round. The NC Symphony will be holding a performance on its Main Stage.

Our Independence Day festivities will be on Monday, July 3rd starting at 6:00 pm in South Park, 900 South Main Street, Fuquay-Varina.

Cary’s Fourth celebrations will begin at 8:00 am and go until after the fireworks at dusk around 10:00 pm at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park, Boathouse and Spillway.
