Fuquay-Varina hops to it for fun-seeking kids

With the time of year now just a couple of weeks away, the Easter Bunny tradition is still going strong in Fuquay-Varina, as organizers are gearing up once again for the town’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Hop.

Arriving a week before Easter, the Bunny will bring thousands of eggs filled with toys and candy to the park for little ones to hunt. As if that’s not enough, more candy will be provided to kids at the Downtown Candy Hop afterwards.

The Hop is an Easter version of Halloween’s Trick-or-Treat as the children go from shop to shop around the Downtown Fuquay-Varina area (Main Street and Broad Street) with Easter baskets and receive candy and treats from the local merchants. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures with children during the Egg hunt. Parents will want to bring a camera to capture special moments for postcard printing later.

The Egg Hunt and Candy Hop will both be free, but all children (under the age of 10 recommended) must be accompanied by an adult. All that is needed is a child and a basket to hop on down to South Park, 900 S. Main Street on Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 am. Afterwards, attendees can walk over to Downtown Fuquay-Varina and start collecting more Easter goodies from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
