Artful day coming to Downtown Fuquay Varina
October 5, 2013 by Lisa
The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce is hosting its ‘11th Annual Day in Downtown: a Fall Art and Crafts Festival’ at the end of the month.
Over 14,000 people attended this juried arts and crafts festival last year and organizers expect at least 12,000 this year. Music on two stages will fill the air, as will the aroma of the Chili Cook-off—with a full roster and fierce competition.
Last year, the chili ran out early so the organizers suggest arriving before 1:00 pm for those who would like to try it. Also, the Fuquay Cruisers Car Club will be exhibiting classic cars and will provide motor-minded activities.
A Halloween-themed Kids Kourt will offer coloring contests, face-painting, skits, and music all day long, as well as traditional train rides, a climbing wall, carnival-type games, and inflatable bouncers. The whole family can enjoy costume contests, and demonstrations of martial arts, dance, and theater.
Organized originally as a business expo, today’s festival continues to offer businesses corner, double, and single booths. Singles can be reserved for $100 for Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce members and $150 for non-members. Double booths are $175 for members and $275 for non-members, while corner booths are $150 for members and $200 for non-members. An extra fee applies for electricity. Local print companies and print services may want to get their spaces reserved before the October 11 deadline.
This event will be held at Fuquay-Varina’s historic Downtown Main Street in the retail district, October 26, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
