Fayetteville celebrates duck derby with a 5K

Residents in Fayetteville and the surrounding areas are getting ready to kick off the famous Duck Derby with the Second Annual Duck Derby 5k. The race offers numerous prizes and fun while promoting physical fitness.

The route begins at the Camping World of Fayetteville and continue on Route 95, winding through a lot of local communities. The total distance being run is just over three miles with a total climb of 42 feet. Free fruit, coffee, and water will be provided after the run to all attendees.

Awards will be given out to the top three runners overall, as well as the top three men and women in each of the six age brackets. All winners will receive a custom T-shirt with a logo design for the race and the top three overall will also receive an autographed picture by Quacky and a free duck in the duck derby. Additional prizes, such as a Coleman Camper, will also be given out via a drawing to all registered participants.

The Duck Derby 5k will take place on February 25 starting at 8:30 am, beginning at the Camping World of Fayetteville, located at 5117 US Highway 301. Registration for the race costs $25 for adults, $15 for youth under 18, and $50 for VIP. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website.
