Durham Chamber opens workshop selection

Between Chamber U, the upcoming economic summit, and the continuation of the “Economic Development Series”, Durham business owners have a good selection of workshops aimed at them this month.

According to the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce’s website, the first of these particular events is the Chamber U presentation. While many businesses are experimenting with the Internet and what digital business cards and social media can do, “is it working?” is a question that needs to be answered if the team is going to continue branding itself online.

On April 11th, Mark Simmons of Mixed Digital will be giving a talk entitled “Web Analytics: Are You Measuring Success?” at the next Chamber U meeting. For professionals who are interested in getting a more advanced understanding of the Internet, this is a short workshop to consider.

A week later on the 18th, the 2012 Economic Summit will be taking place. Given the effect that the economy can have on the day to day running of a business, this event is clearly going to be covering an important subject matter. Local professionals who want to hear an expert’s take on the local economy can do so at the summit.

Along the same lines, the chamber is also going to be hosting the next segment of its “Economic Development Series” April 26th. This more collaborative format will look to give attendees a chance to discuss the state of Durham’s economy while also coming up with ways for business owners to support one another throughout the year. Whether for fellowship or to come up with ideas, this is another meet-up to keep an eye on.
