Fashion week begins in September in Charlotte
September 7, 2012 by Mark
The Blake Hotel, 555 South McDowell, will be the location for the 2012 Charlotte International Fashion Week. The majority of the evenings during the week will begin at 7:00 pm, though the schedule varies for each day.
The start of the week will allow attendees to meet some of the designers and talent for the fashionable days ahead. Admission is free for this evening and the event will be held at Emerson Joseph at 221 South Tryon Street in Charlotte. New designers will be showing their own collections in the CIFW as well, and they will be featured on the night Friday, September 21. The theme for the emerging talent week will be “When in Rome…” and it will be held at Reel Works Studio @ NC Music Factory at 817 Hamilton Street.
The themes for each evening will vary. For example, the theme for one of the days will be a romantic evening in Italy, starting at 7:00 pm. Awards will be presented on the final evening of VIFW, when the awards ceremony starts at 7:00 pm and no admission fee will be charged. Another showcase that has complementary admission will be the Gentlemen’s Swank evening that also has complementary admission.
The entire week of events begins on September 18 and runns through September 27 at various times. Print companies have probably completed poster printing and flyer printing to advertise the exciting upcoming Charlotte event.
