Diaper Dash to help moms in shelters

April 3, 2014 by

Anyone in Charlotte who likes to run, have fun, and support moms will no doubt enjoy participating in the Diaper Dash.

‘Two Men and a Truck’ will be hosting a donation drive called ‘Movers for Mom’, along with a ‘Diaper Dash’. The free event aims to collect essentials, such as clothing and toiletries, for babies and their mothers. The donations will be used to help moms in shelters. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 people who give at least two items. In addition, for every donation, a raffle ticket will be given. Along with donating at the event, there are at least a dozen collection sites in the Charlotte area.

Runners can choose between one, three, and five-mile courses. Participants are encouraged to bring a pillowcase to decorate and wear as a diaper for the dash. The run is for all abilities, and a food truck will be available.

‘Two Men and a Truck’ is a local moving company that tries to help its community. With Movers for Mom, the company hopes to empower women. However, the establishment is also involved with several charities, and could well be using a local printing company to make banners and flyers for the event.

The Diaper Dash takes place on April 2 at the NoDa Brewing Company located at 2229 North Davidson Street in Charlotte. The race starts at 6:30 pm.
