Charlotte to have fun at festive carnival

The Latin American Women’s Association (LAWA) is putting together a carnival with an emphasis on World Cup soccer and Rio De Janeiro. Along with having fun, the event is intended to promote diversity and raise money to support families’ futures in the Charlotte community.
LAWA is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting education. It has raised money to give local, college-bound students scholarships. The organization also helps Latino students with tutoring and mentoring. Those who are interested can support LAWA through volunteer and financial roles.
Tickets cost $150 for general admission and $125 for association members. Tickets can be purchased on LAWA’s website or by calling (704) 552-1003.
Those in attendance are encouraged to either wear formal and carnival-inspired attire. Guests will receive free masks and hats. In addition, there will be both live and silent auctions, cocktails, a Latin American meal, dancing, and performances. Countries playing in this summer’s World Cup will have their nation’s flag on display.
The event organizers have likely used poster printing to create colorful displays for the carnival. In addition, by using printing services, LAWA could inform local students about its program with an informational handout.
The carnival will take place on March 15 at the Hilton Charlotte Center City located at 222 East Third Street in Charlotte. This gala will go on from 6:00 pm until midnight.
