Charlotte rocks out to benefit kids
December 7, 2013 by Max
The Kids First of the Carolinas organization aims to help children and their families have a wonderful Christmas with a benefit auction and concert.
The 2nd annual Rockin’ Kid First event will feature three stages, food vendors, a silent auction, a raffle, and door prizes. Some of the performers includeThe Reason You Stayed, Chosen Rejects, Mr. Pink, Carson Hill, and Rock U Roadshow.
Advance tickets for the event cost $10, and holders who bring a new unwrapped toy, coat, or pair of shoes will be given 10 free tickets for door prizes and raffle items. Tickets purchased on the day of the show run $14, but those who bring a new toy, coat, or shoes will receive a $5 discount.
By attending the concert, residents in Charlotte can help out a local, non-profit organization that provides assistance to children and families in need. As a grass roots charity, Kids First of the Carolinas provides families with basic necessities like coats and school supplies, but also bigger needs such as shelter.
The event organizers will likely be seeking help from local print companies to make flyers and banners to promote the day. Using brochure printers, the venue can make a hand out to promote its services for future concerts.
The concert will take place at the Chop Shop NoDa on December 14 from 1:00 pm until 1:00 am the next day. The venue is spacious with great lighting and a main room constructed from re-purposed industrial and automotive materials. It is located at 399 East 35th Street in Charlotte 28205.
