Alton Brown brings food and humor to Charlotte

February 9, 2014 by

This month, Charlotte residents have a chance to experience culinary lessons, comedy, and science, all in about two hours.

Celebrity chef, Food Network star, and comedian Alton Brown is putting on a live show called ‘The Edible Inevitable Tour.’ Guests will be treated to jokes, food investigations, interesting information, and funny music. Some may even be asked to participate in the highly interactive, and sometimes messy, show.

For over 10 years, Alton Brown has been captivating audiences with his scientific look at recipes along with his unique wit. He has hosted and appeared on many cooking shows for the Food Network. In addition, he has won two James Beard accolades.

The tour began in October and will come to Charlotte on February 24 at 7:30 pm. Tickets prices start at $24.50. Two hours before the show, there is a special $20 ticket option for students with a valid student ID.

Since Brown is a famous television personality, it is likely tickets are going fast. Poster printing companies have probably been busy making signs to hang in high-traffic areas, including colleges so that the special ticket deal for students is promoted.

The performance takes place at the Belk Theater, a venue that can hold over 2,000 people. The Theater is located at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on 130 North Tryon Street. Call (704) 372-1000 for more information.
