Abridged Nutcracker performance dances into Charlotte

December 5, 2013 by

This month, a unique version of the Nutcracker is coming to Charlotte. Families can enjoy this abridged and narrated version of the ballet performance.

The Harris YMCA School of Dance will usher in its 11th annual performance of The Nutcracker. The school has eight pre-company and company levels. Within this group, there are 115 students, along with guest artists, staff, and choreographers.

Since the performance is shorter than traditional Nutcracker ballets, it could be an ideal experience for younger ballet enthusiasts. Furthermore, girl scouts who live in the Charlotte area are in luck, as they can obtain a Nutcracker patch for attending.

It is likely there will be plenty of other holiday performances in Charlotte. For this reason, the Harris YMCA School of Dance may want to stand out by using printing services to make banners for the event. Furthermore, to promote their ballet company, the organization could use brochure printers to create appealing handouts for local ballet aficionados.

From December 14 to 15, there will be six shows. On December 14, the show times are 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. General admission tickets cost $15. However, for bigger groups, there is a ‘10 tickets for $10’ special for the 10:00 am performance on December 14.

The Nutcracker performance will take place at the Dana Auditorium in the E.H. Little Fine Arts Center at Queens University. This is located at 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, 28274. Those with questions can call the dance office at 704-716-6928.
