A dash of excitement in Charlotte

Tomorrow morning, Charlotte residents have the chance to make a difference at the 3-2-1 Dash for Down Syndrome. This event features a 5K and a one-mile fun run. Proceeds from the event will go to research for Down syndrome.
The Down Syndrome Association of Great Charlotte (DSAGC), a non-profit organization, is the host for the race. The group’s mission is to support families and help those with the syndrome reach their potential. The Dash for Down syndrome hopes to promote inclusion for individuals living with Down syndrome. The organization may be using flyer printing to promote the event and encourage families to participate.
Registration for the 5K is $30 or $35 on race day. Likewise, registration for the fun run is $12 or $15 on race day. Race packets can be picked up later today from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Charlotte Running Company at 5355 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy Suite 300. The packets can also be picked up on the day of the race from 6:30 am to 8:00 am. Participants will need to bring a photo ID and sign a waiver.
Awards for the 5K include recognition for the top male and female masters. In addition, there will be awards for the top three males and females overall, along with recognition for the top three finishers of each gender within the seven age groups.
On race day, participants can park at Elevation Church at 8835 Blakeney Professional Dr in Charlotte. The 5K begins at 8:30 am at the Blakeney Professional Center at 8835 Blakeney Professional Dr, Charlotte, NC 28277. The fun run begins at 9:30 am.
