A chance to have a laugh at the upcoming comedy playoffs

The annual improvisational comedy playoffs are sure to rouse laughter from the crowd this month. Some of the best comedians around will be at the Charlotte Comedy Theatre at Wet Willies to wow the audience and make a name for themselves. By working with local printing companies, the comedians also have a chance at self-advertisement, furthering their career whether they win or not.

This 12-year tradition will face teams of rib-ticklers off against each other in amusing battles such as the improv “I can’t breathe!” battle. Champions from past playoffs will be returning to give the new guys — and girls — a run for their money. Competitors are sure to poke fun at anything and everything.

Wet Willies will provide meals and plenty of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to keep attendees happy and engaged. In addition, those who stay after the show will have a chance to meet the competitors, get autographs, and take pictures with the witty folk from the stage.

Those interested can reserve their tickets now by calling 803-548-6824 or visiting the theater’s website. Each show’s ticket is just $10 and everyone is invited. The playoffs start at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, and then again at 8:00 pm on Friday, July 19. The winners will face off for the title, and the bragging rights, at 8:00 pm on Saturday at the final battle. It’s all held at 900 Music Factory Boulevard, the media center of Charlotte.
