Festival to showcase artists and Cary businesses
August 9, 2012 by James
Of all summer events in Cary, North Carolina, the 36th Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival is one to put on the calendar not to miss. The festival takes place on August 25 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Downtown Cary.
Multiple arts and crafts displays will line the streets and some of the projects will include clay, leather, glass, wood, and other creative materials. There will be metalwork, sculptures, jewelry, photography, garden crafts, and furniture available for shoppers to purchase. The festival will also feature a Kids’ World, three entertainment stages, concession stands, and a beer garden for patrons over 21. Air-conditioned restroom trailers and a first-aid area will be located throughout the festival as well.
Clowns, marionettes, magic, and a misting tent are all available in Kids’ World on the corner of Park and Academy Streets. The SCA Beer Garden and Gurkin’s Concession Corner will be on Chatham Street, while the entertainment stages will be situated between Park and Chatham Streets. Free shuttle buses will be running every 15 minutes to Cary Elementary from Cary Towne Center on the corner of Walnut Street and Maynard Road, offering a convenient way to get to and from the festival.
The event is open to the public, with free admission, and has been ranked among the best festivals by Sunshine Art Magazine. Print companies are probably performing flyer printing to promote the one-day festival. For more information, call (919) 469-4061 or visit the Town of Cary website for a concession vendor application.
