Cary hooks new business

The gloom of winter may be lifted a little for some in the area when the ribbon is cut for the grand opening of our new Bass Pro Shop next week. The new store will be located at 801 Bass Pro Lane. For those who are wondering where that is, RalleyPoint at Harrison Square is now listed as being at 837 Bass Pro Lane.
Bass Pro Shops aim to be more than simple a “fishing shop”, but rather an entertainment experience just one step down from visiting a museum and a couple of steps down from an amusement park, with both education and fun very much at the forefront.
Large detailed murals in the archery department and in the store’s footwear department feature scenes with local flavor. One shows an Appalachian mountain woods scene featuring local wildlife, including elk, which have recently been reintroduced to our area. The center piece for the store is a 16,000 gallon fish tank containing not the usual goldfish, but fish native to the waterways of North Carolina.
New businesses feed the local economy and Bass Pro Shop is said to have hired 200 associates in preparation for their opening. Additionally, the have provided construction jobs as well as work for those who print digital business cards and carry out stationery printing.
The ribbon cutting with be held next Wednesday, February 12, at 6:30 pm
