Annual symposium celebrates teachers

July 2, 2015 by

The 9th annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Symposium and Celebration will be held in just over a week’s time in Baton Rouge.

Presented by the Dream Teachers and the Louisiana Department of Education, the keynote speaker for the event will be Tim Clue. There are set to be workshops on robotics, discussions about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), leadership, and character development.

There will also be a luncheon and a cocktail reception. An awards gala will pay tribute to the semi-finalists for elementary, high school, and middle school Teacher and Principal of the Year; and the winners will receive a range of gifts and prizes.

This event will not only be educational for the participants, but it will also be an excellent networking opportunity for educators from all over the state.

To ensure as many teachers as possible attend this event, organizers may have worked with their favorite Baton Rouge print company to create flyers or brochures that could then be sent out to all of the schools in the state.

The Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Symposium and Celebration will take place at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center on July 11 from 7:00am to 10:00pm. Fees are $100 for the full day, $25 for the day session (which includes lunch), and $50 for the awards gala and celebration. For more information about this event, call 225-923-0294.
