Former first lady to address state university

The patriotic banner printing runs have hopefully all been completed ahead of tonight’s visit of the former First Lady of the country to Georgia State University (GSU).

As part of its latest lecture season, GSU is welcoming Laura Bush, wife of former President of the United States George W. Bush to the stand.

First Lady Bush will be speaking as part of the university’s Leadership Lecture Series, and a great attendance is expected.

Tickets for all attendees were free for the event, and they are not going to be available on the door.

Available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, there will be a good mix of guests too. To ensure a wide selection, a number of tickets were being set aside for students, who had until September 10 to get their tickets.

Staff and other faculty members were able to order their tickets a week earlier, with many excited to attend to hear the First Lady from their most formative years.

There will also likely be a number of interested attendees from the wider Statesboro community as well, with a set number of tickets having been specially set aside until September 10.

With many memorable events taking place during her time in office, the lecture given by First Lady Bush will no doubt be interesting and informative.

The event takes place tonight, Tuesday September 17, at Hanner Fieldhouse. Mrs. Bush will take to the stage and speak at approximately 7:00 pm.
