Only One Month To Go Until the Snellville Beach Blast!

April 19, 2012 by

The people of Snellville are just one month away from what promises to be a fantastic local celebration, as the Snellville Beach Blast comes to town on May 19th. Another great initiative by the Snellville Tourism and Trade Association, there has been a flurry of poster printing and banner printing to advertise the event.

Just seeing a beach laid out on the Town Green is something that locals are looking forward to, but there will be so much entertainment on offer too.

More than 60 tons of sand will create the seafront setting on the Green, which will host bungee jumping, water slides and even a badminton court. With live music through the day, train rides along the beach and a limbo competition, it promises to be fantastic fun. There will also be a watermelon eating contest and a sandcastle building contest.

Local vendors will be tempting you with all sorts of food too, from hot dogs and hamburgers to cookies and cakes. This is just what will be needed by those taking part in the 5k, 10k and kids fun runs taking place earlier in the day.

Runners will take to the streets starting from Town Green and making their way through Briscoe Park and local neighborhoods. Raising money for the Snellville Rotary Club and the Snellville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, many entrants are expected.

Anyone aged 13 and above can enter the 5k or 10k runs, whilst kids age 7 through 12 can join the Fun Run.
