Savannah hosts barbecue extravaganza
August 20, 2013 by James
Dickey’s Barbecue in Savannah recently celebrated its grand opening.
Located in the Savannah Commons Shopping Center, Dickey’s Barbecue sought to draw in the locals by offering a number of discounted prices on its products.
The main special offer of the grand opening was its Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches. Priced at just $1, it was a tasty offer that was well advertised throughout Savannah using poster printing.
Similarly, banner printing was chosen by the store – a method that proved effective in advertising the shop’s offering of live entertainment and the appearance of a special guest.
The firm’s chairman, Roland Dickey, Sr., was present at the opening of the restaurant.
It excited the store manager, Ray DuBois, who said:
“It’s an honor to have Mr. Dickey here – I know guests will enjoy meeting him.”
The grand opening of the outlet was well timed for lunch – starting at 11:00 am and running through 1:00pm. As well as signing copies of his recipe book, Dickey also gave the first 100 customers at the new store a free copy.
The Dickey’s Barbecue event followed on from the early August weekend’s tax-free shopping opportunities in Savannah.
With back to school offers now up upon us, the tax-free sales in many shops across Georgia on the same weekend as the Dickey’s Barbecue event (August 9-10) were welcomed by residents. Just like the restaurant, many stores opted for a combination of flyer and banner printing to supply the materials they needed to get the word out about their special offers.
