Roswell gets own demonstration site for fitness

The GameTime Fitness Park located here in Roswell has been officially recognized as a National Demonstration Site for Outdoor Fitness Parks.
The designation by Tennessee based PlayCore puts the site onto a national database of other fitness parks.
In a press release last year, PlayCore’s Corporate Vice President of Marketing, Anne-Marie Spencer, said:
“We want to recognize Outdoor Fitness Parks that follow best practices in design, execution, and marketing, and then showcase them in a National Registry … so other communities can learn from their success.”
As well as being well-planned and requiring other strict criteria to be met, having a measurable positive impact on the community is essential for qualifying parks. Raising the profile of the city and of the state, it is a banner printing moment for fitness in Roswell and the communities within it.
The designation recognizes the excellent facilities at the park, which includes 10 fitness stations. People that have already used the equipment have given it good reviews.
The Director of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, Joe Glover, welcomed the accreditation of the park, adding that careful consideration went into its design and kitting out.
The Outdoor Fitness Parks initiative is a major global drive to promote fitness. More than that though, it is also designed to help build strength of spirit within local communities.
