Roswell and surrounds sample a summer of wine and beer

Summer is certainly getting underway in a big way in Roswell this month, with the city and many surrounding areas having beer fests and wine fests in celebration.

Roswell residents looking for convivial spirit would do well to make a visit to Duluth tomorrow, June 28. A local growler store here will be hosting ‘A Brewers Night’ in the downtown area. Starting at 4:00 pm and running until 7:00 pm, beers from Atlanta’s Red Brick Brewing Company will be available at low prices at the New Dawn Theater.

This is the latest in a number of recent local events which have allowed visitors to enjoy alcoholic beverages. Last Thursday, June 21, the Salud! event took placeat Harry’s Farmers Market. No doubt that the impact of flyer and poster printing helped to ensure a healthy turnout at the event and flyers may also have been used for tasting notes. Salud! concentrated on wines from The Rhone and southern France, with highlights being the famed Chateauneuf-du-Pape and popular Syrah’s from Cote Rotie.

There was more wine available, along with a great deal of beer, food, and music at the Bluegrass Music Festival, which was enjoyed last weekend. Also celebrating the 40th Anniversary of movie favorite ‘Deliverance’, it was the first Chattooga River Festival. The weekend also saw local art on display at the event in Clayton and Long Creek, with a highlight being a Dueling Banjo duet, as appeared in ‘Deliverance’.

Wine-lovers can still finish the month in style this Saturday, with Italian wine showcased at Le Caveau Fine Wines from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and The Chateau Elan Winery offering all-day advice of winemaking.
