Peachtree City PD launches annual toy drive
November 26, 2012 by Mark
With Thanksgiving over and done with, and just turkey and cranberry sandwiches to remember the day by, it must be time for the Peachtree City Police Department’s (PCPD) ‘Light Up the Night’ toy drive.
Now in its third year, this year’s poster printing has taken place to mark the launch this evening, November 26. A special drop-off at the city’s Walmart parking lot will kick-start the event and all residents are invited to donate a gift, any time between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
Donations, of unwrapped new toys, will also be accepted on November 27 and 28, December 4 through 6, and December 10 through 12 at the same times.
Donating a toy is easy. Volunteers from PCPD and the Peachtree City Community Emergency Response Team will be on hand to accept them. The team will be easy to find, with police vehicles marking their location.
There will also be other areas opened up across the city in coming weeks. With cash donations eagerly accepted as well, the Police Department headquarters will be another drop-off during business hours, with local businesses encouraged to make a donation.
Local businesses could also be interested in buying the 2012 specially commissioned decoration for their Holiday trees this year.
A fun golf cart themed ornament, which promotes the unique character of the city, is available from the Peachtree City Convention & Visitors Bureau. Costing just $15, it is a great way to celebrate the area, the community, and the bureau itself.
It may also offer the opportunity for some new business card printing to be done, to leave with the Bureau.
