Newnan Theater Set For Dangerous Liaison

Local theater goers are looking forward to a presentation of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses”, as Academy Award winner’s Christopher Hampton’s world famous adaptation is being presented by Newnan Theatre Company.

It can be seen at the Black Box theater from April 19 thru 29, on each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 8:00pm, and on Sunday afternoons at 3pm.

The play is the 1986 Laurence Olivier Award Best New Play winning adaptation of the original French novel.

Expert poster printing services have been used to great effect throughout the city, ensuring the locals can get their tickets in good time, to see the drama unfolding.

A story of seduction and intrigue, it sees the two main protagonists living life playing only by their own rules. They have no concept of life for the ordinary person and no regard for the value of money, yet have a very different public face to that portrayed in private.

A timeless story of personal fragility and cruelty which bridges the ages from the 18th Century to the present day, it is little wonder that it is so often adapted and enjoyed by thousands.

A play for adults, with mature themes and subjects, it is not a presentation to take the younger kids too but, as part of a night out with friends it is most certainly ideal.

Directed by Jennifer Dorrell, this adaptation sees local actors Stan Gentry and Alison Chambers step into the parts of the sadistic seducer Vicomte de Valmont, and the wantonly wicked Marquise de Merteuil respectively.
