Dunkin’ Donuts jobs coming to Duluth

July 1, 2013 by

The sole buying and distribution operator for Dunkin’ Donuts in the U.S. is to move much of its back office operations to Duluth, it was confirmed late last month.

With a number of new jobs likely to be created, folks here could well find themselves needing the services of local business card printing companies as a result.

National DCP LLC, which is in charge of source, purchase, and distribution for the popular confectionery chain in the continental United States, is to move a number of administrative roles to the town. It presently runs most of these operations from the town of Bellingham, Washington.

The new office in Duluth is slated to open in August, so printing services could well be needed by mid-Fall for those applying for one of the new positions.

A statement from the company said that somewhere in the region of 70 new positions would be created. However, it could be more.

The statement also said that of the 135 personnel at its Bellingham corporate office would be given the opportunity to move down south. However, it is not clear how many will make the trip.

It is great news for the local area. As the country continues to recover from the economic downturn of the last few years, Duluth is increasingly being seen as a great place to do business.

The latest results for the whole of the country also showed that employment is on the up.

The figures for May, released earlier this month, showed that over 175,000 new positions were created in the month.
