Popular Atlanta band set to play Sandy Springs this weekend

Fans of swing, jazz, and dance music have something to look forward to this weekend, as one of Atlanta‘s most popular bands takes to the stage at Heritage Green.

Part of the summer season of concerts at the popular venue, folks are being urged to come and enjoy celebrating Atlanta in typical Georgia style through colorful flyer printing.

With poster printing likely going up all over the local area too, it is looking like being a popular night, especially for those who take an interest in music.

The Gwen Hughes & the Retro Jazz Kats will hit the stage, with jazz clearly very much their driving force, but the band goes into other depths and genres as well.

From the cool Big Band tunes harking back to the post-1940 era, to the pulsating dance music made famous by Earth Wind & Fire, the band covers it all.

Gwen and the Kats have also been known to deliver Lynyrd Skynyrd hits, and even taken to playing OutKast.

It is this command of everything related to jazz that has seen the band voted as the best Jazz/Swing Artist in Atlanta by readers of Creative Loafing Magazine. This is an award the group have won on three occasions.

Anyone coming along to the event is invited to bring food and drink to the park, and then to just kick back and chill. The night of music gets underway on Sunday, August 18 from 7:00 pm.
