Atlanta among top ten hiring cities

In a recent report, LinkedIn announced that Atlanta is one of the top cities for hiring newly graduated college students. The city is among nine other cities who made the list.

The results were taken from profiles of LinkedIn members who graduated over the last two years. The results also included highest paying job titles and top industries. Graduating new hires are likely updating their digital business cards in preparation for their new careers.

The report also named the top three fields hiring recent graduates. They were identified as marketing and advertising, information technology and services, and financial services.

Atlanta metro area companies benefitting from the hiring of new graduates included Home Depot, Georgia Institute of Technology, AT&T, Deloitte and Georgia State University. These results are based on numbers obtained in 2016. Large companies can benefit from direct mail printing to colleges and universities to seek employees for open positions.

Georgia came in at number seven on the list which also included two California cities; San Francisco Bay (2nd) and Los Angeles (4th). Texas also had two cities in the top ten, Dallas/Fort Worth (8th) and Houston (9th). Other cities included Washington, DC (3rd), chicago (5th), Boston (6th), Minneapolis-St. Paul (10th) and first place, New York City.

LinkedIn is a social networking website is focused on business and employment oriented interacting. It was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA.
