Winter Park to celebrate Earth Day with a free tree giveaway

March 8, 2013 by

The Earth Day in the Park and Arbor Day Tree Giveway is coming back to Winter Park for a second year.

The event is a presentation of the City of Winter Park and Rollins College, and the tree giveaway is sponsored by Urban Forestry Management and Keep Winter Park Beautiful.

The event will feature information booths from various area environmental organizations, educational workshops, art and crafts displays, food vendors, live musical entertainment, and various eco-friendly giveaways. Every person attending will receive a native tree that they can replant in their own gardens. On a related note, the city is also asking for volunteers to take part in various Earth Day Month of Service activities.

It seems very likely that those environmental organizations participating will want to work with Winter Park printing companies to design and print informative literature to hand out to those who are interested. Brochures, booklets, and flyers are inexpensive to produce, yet very helpful in educating the public about what an organization does and what it has to offer to the community. They are also important in helping to raise funds for those organizations, allowing them continue their work.

The 2nd annual Earth Day in the Park and Arbor Day Tree Giveaway will take place at Central Park on April 20 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Admission is free. Those who need more information or wish to volunteer for Earth Day Month of Service projects can call 407-643-1656.
