New Central Florida artists to be discovered in Winter Park

The 39th Winter Park Autumn Art Festival is a two-day event that will take place at Central Park in a month’s time. The festival is a presentation of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the Crealde School of Art.

Among the features will be the artwork of approximately 150 Central Florida artists. Artists, all of whom are chosen by a jury, will be displaying and selling items such as paintings, ceramics, fine crafts, sculpture, photographs, and jewelry. Several cash awards are also handed out each year, with 2012’s judges being Karen Derksen and Ronda Richley. The awards handed out include Award of Merit, Award of Honor, Morse Museum Award, and Best of Show.

In addition to the art on display, there will also be live entertainment, children’s hands-on workshops, and food concessions. The festival this year will also be celebrating the 125th anniversary of Winter Park. Merchandise related to the event such as tote bags, T-shirts, and posters will be available for sale both at the festival and online. Organizers will no doubt be turning to Winter Park printing companies to provide them with services such as poster printing and banner printing. Banners hung throughout Winter Park could help to remind the residents that the Autumn Art Festival is coming up and make those who are visiting the park aware of it.

It all gets going on the weekend of October 13 – 14 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. The event is free to attend and more information can be found by calling 407-644-8281.
