The 53rd Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival will take place in downtown Winter Park from March 16-18. Admission is free and 3500 people are expected to attend.

The festival has been named

“one of the nation’s most prestigious art festivals.”

The artist who exhibit are hand chosen by a panel of judges and pay $505 for the honor to show their art work. The exception to this is that the three artists who are chosen “emerging artists” can exhibit for free. The types of artwork accepted at the festival are numerous and include such genres as digital art, painting, photography, fiber art, jewelry and drawing and graphics. The artists will be competing for 62 awards which pay a total of $67,000 in cash prizes. The Best of Show receives $10,000, is purchased by the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival committee and donated to the city.

In addition to the artwork on display, the festival will feature the Children’s Workshop Village, musical entertainment, food concession stands and a beer garden.

Sponsorship or patron’s program opportunities are available from $500-$5000. Those who donate from $1000-$5000 will receive an advertisement in the official festival program. Winter Park businesses who show their support for the Sidewalk Art Festival will be telling those in the community that they are dedicated to its improvement and beautification. Local printing companies can help to get the word out through brochure or flyer printing. Many people will more willingly support a business that supports the arts in such a public manner.
