Annual juried art show returns to Winter Park

The Winter Park Autumn Art Festival is returning to the city this October for the 40th year. The show, which takes place annually on the second weekend in October, is a juried art event in which the artists compete for cash prizes.

Artisans will be selling works in eight different categories including ceramics, photography, fine crafts, drawing and graphics, and paintings. This year’s judges are Mark Forman and Lisa Konikow, who will be awarding prizes for such designations as Award of Merit, Award of Excellence, the Morse Museum Award, and Best of Show.

In addition to the artworks for sale, there will also be related activities for children, food vendors, and live entertainment from acts such as King and Company, the Bahia Dixielanders, and the Rodeo Rhythm Kings. Official merchandise such as T-shirts, tote bags, and note cards will also be for sale, as will the festival poster, which is chosen each year through a contest open to everyone. Organizers no doubt hope it will present an opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent in the community, and for the public to find artwork to take home with them or to give as gifts.

Organizers of the festival have likely invested in printing services from Winter Park companies to provide the official merchandise and flyers for advertising. It will take place at Central Park from October 12-13 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. Admission is free. Call 407-644-8281 to find out more about the festival.
