July Fourth options aplenty in Vero Beach

June 15, 2013 by

There are a couple of events taking place in and around Vero Beach this July Fourth, both of which are set to be great ways to celebrate the birth of the country.

The first example is the Beverly Norris 5K Run/Walk taking place in Sebastian. This annual event is presented by, and raises funds for the Substance Awareness Center. Participants pay a fee to participate and there are several age group categories. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall and the top three in each age group. Sponsorships are available from $250 to $5,000. Water stations will be set up throughout the course.

Later that same day in Vero Beach, there will be an Independence Day celebration and a 20-minute fireworks display. During the day, there will be children’s activities such as bounce houses, food and drink vendors, and arts and crafts for sale.

Both of these events will probably attract a lot of people from Vero Beach. It is likely that local print companies will be helping provide marketing materials such as flyers to help spread the word.

The Beverly Norris run/walk will take place at Riverview Park in Sebastian beginning at 7:00 AM. Fees are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event. The first 150 participants will receive a free T-shirt. Call 772-770-4811 for more information.

The Fireworks celebration will be an evening offering, held at Riverside Park in Vero Beach from 6:00 pm to approximately 9:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information call 772-567-2144.
